This weekend The Brazos River dropped to about 20 ft at the Richmond Gage, but with the steady rains in the watershed it is rising and is forecasted to crest at 37.5 feet by Friday and onto Saturday. At this elevation, the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 7 (FBCLID 7) flood gates begin to close and drainage inside the levee is restricted. We do not anticipate needed to pump any water, but the FBCLID 7 pump stations and portable pumps have been tested, and operators are on stand-by to run the pumps, if needed. The latest Brazos River Forecast from the National Weather Service is included below.

Current rain predictions are low percentages every day for the next week, but scattered storms throughout Fort Bend County. During rain showers, it may take longer than normal for areas to drain, but all channels are currently down and the rainfall will have plenty of room to drain as designed.
