The LID 7 contractor mobilized in July to start construction on the new Stormwater Pump Station. An access road was installed along Ellis Creek so the contractor can enter through the CenterPoint transmission line easement. The access road will keep most construction traffic out of the Crescent Ridge neighborhood. However, please remain aware of construction traffic on Cunningham Creek Boulevard. Temporary fencing is also installed on Ellis Creek to block pedestrians during construction.

The contractor has started excavation on the pump station foundation and intake structure. Next week the contractor will drive large steel sheet piles into the bank of Ellis Creek to protect the excavated area. For one or two weeks, a piledriver may be used to drive these sheets into the ground, but any loud noise created by the contractor will be limited to typical work hours (Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.). The District has also installed vibratory monitoring equipment to record vibrations from construction activity, as an added measure of protection for neighboring residents.

The LID 7 Board of Directors thanks all the residents of New Territory for their support and patience as these flood mitigation projects proceed. The LID 7 Stormwater Pump Station is currently scheduled to be complete in the Fall of 2023. For questions regarding the project, please reach out to the District via the “Contact Us” page on the FBCLID 7 website.
